The villages of Oystermouth & Mumbles merge at the western end of Swansea Bay.

A Norman castle overlooks Oystermouth, a quaint village that takes its name from what was once a thriving industry – oysters. They thrived on this part of Swansea Bay and were picked and sent all over the country; this industry is now being revived by the seeding of new oyster beds.
Further along the foreshore, Mumbles pier houses the RNLI lifeboat station and across the Sound, like a sentinel for the approach to Swansea Bay, known by seafarers across the world, is the famous Mumbles Light House; a welcome sight after a storm-tossed voyage.
Around Mumbles Head, the Gateway to Gower, is Bracelet Bay above which is the regional centre for H.M. Coastguard, keeping a watch on the busy Bristol Channel and its approaches.
One area bustling, yet around the next cove, tranquility in beautiful surroundings.
